Pre-School Lessons

Unattended by parent / carer in the water

The Pre-School Framework is a pathway designed for children between 3 & 5 years old. It focusses on making a child’s early independent swimming lessons a fun and positive experience.

These classes are a great way for pre-schoolers who are ready to move on from adult and child lessons or those who are ready to start their swimming journey independently. They are designed for swimmers to be unaccompanied by a parent/carer in the water and allow parents/carers to watch from poolside.

Group lessons are 30 minutes long and are taught in small groups of around 4 – 5 children from around 3 years old.

Children are taught to swim on their own with floatation aids such as discs, noodles and floats.

Lessons are based on a games led approach with the use of toys and floats to introduce and develop core aquatic skills.
